Application Costs for Military and Veteran Learners

The application fee is waived for all Nightingale College’s active duty servicemembers and veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, unless transferring in pharmacology credit where only a $50 application fee will be assessed.

Military and Veteran Cost Adjustments for Non-Matriculated Non-Degree Seeking Learners

Tuition for non-matriculated non-degree seeking learners who are Active Duty and Reserve Members of the U.S. Armed Forces is $250 per academic semester credit plus the applicable course fees ($100 per course) only for the GE courses COM 301, ENG 120, HUM 110, MAT 100, PSY 201, and SOC 220.

Servicemembers may take up to five (5) of the aforementioned courses at the stated tuition rate.

Withdrawal Refund Policy

New military and veteran learners who begin attending and withdraw from an academic program after the enrollment cancellation period and continuing military and veteran learners who withdraw from an academic program after starting in a new academic semester will be subject to pro-rata tuition charges.

This includes military learners who are deployed while in school. The refund will be calculated based on the week of the last day of attendance in an academic program.

Priority for administrative processing will be given to learners who submit their finalized FAFSA application 8 weeks prior to the start of each semester. Learners who submit after this date will still be processed, but processing times may vary depending on the submission date and available resources.

Am I eligible for a leave of absence due to military duty?

Unfortunately, Nightingale College does not offer leaves of absence. However, all learners are allowed the ability to withdraw and reenter the College. If this withdrawal and reentry is due to military service, the withdrawal and reentry will not be counted against them.
What is the process for re-enrolling after military service?

Learners who wish to return to Nightingale College following military service should contact the College by emailing re-entry@nightingale.edu. Through this email, you can discuss your intention to re-enroll and receive guidance on the necessary steps for re-entry. The College will provide information and support to facilitate your transition back into your academic program.
Can my spouse or dependents receive education benefits?
Nightingale College cannot answer this question for you. For further information or clarification please reach out to your VA representative.
Where can I find help for my mental health while a learner at Nightingale College?

We partner with the Higher Education Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The EAP has limited services at low cost or free for mental health, stress, managing finances, work/life balance, legal help, childcare, and many other supports if needed. They provide five free counseling sessions and can help you find a lower-cost counselor if you wish to continue. To access EAP, simply call the toll-free number 1-800-252-4555 or 1-800-225-2527 to talk with a counselor or coach who will work with you.

You can also visit the EAP’s website: https://www.theeap.com/higher-education-eap. You’ll want to click on “Employee & Family Login” and then click on “Register” to create your account. From there, you’ll see “Counseling Assistance” and a phone number at the top of the page, call this phone number to access services. On the main page, you’ll see a variety of options/resources to explore.

The military is moving my family to another state; how do I update my address?

I need a graduation plan for my military supervisor, where do I get that?

You can email your Nightingale College Learner Support Strategist for a schedule of upcoming courses. Please keep in mind this schedule may be subject to change. If you do not know who that is, you can email lss@nightingale.edu.
Who fills out my VA forms pertaining to enrollment at Nightingale College?

Educational VA forms are completed by various Nightingale College departments. Contact Nightingale College military strategist to direct the desired forms to the correct Nightingale College department at militarylss@nightingale.edu.
What is an exception request and how do I submit one?

An exception request is a form that may be submitted by learners who believe that their extenuating or unpredictable circumstance should excuse them from the enforcement of a policy within two weeks of the inciting incident or relevant assignment deadline. Learners submitting exception requests are required to provide evidence of the extenuating or unpredictable circumstance and explain how it will negatively impact their program progression or completion.

Exception requests are submitted via an online form. Once received, the exception request will be reviewed to determine if the extenuating or unpredictable circumstances warrant the granting of the request. The learner will receive a determination via email within ten (10) business days. Exception request determinations are considered final and not eligible for appeal.
How can I seek additional support for coursework?

For academic support, you should reach out to your facilitator. For additional resources, reach out to Nightingale College LSS Strategists. Please email lss@nightingale.edu if you do not know who your strategist is.
What do I do with my official orders for TDYs, PCS, and deployments?

When you receive these, send them directly to Nightingale College military strategist at militarylss@nightingale.edu.
